DONNER LAKE INN, Truckee

Donner Lake Inn features five guest rooms, each with a private entrance and bathroom. Rooms include gas fireplaces (seasonal operation typically from October to June), window seats with forest views, bathrobes (available upon request), and high-end linens. There are queen-size beds (wrought iron and wood, four-poster, or sleigh), comfy chairs with reading lights, flat screen TVs with cable, and complimentary high-speed WiFi. Complimentary parking is within feet of your guest room door. Pine Lodge features a wood and wrought iron queen bed, with a loft style bunk bed (not built for adults). Mountain Escape includes a wood and iron queen bed with a matching twin bed. Moose Crossing features a cherry sleigh queen bed. Bear's Lair includes a four-poster queen bed. Creekside includes a wood and iron queen bed and a matching twin bed.

A complete breakfast is prepared fresh each morning and served in the dining area. Breads and pastries are homemade. Vegetarian diets and food allergies are accommodated with advance notice; vegan breakfast is available for a surcharge with advance notice. Complimentary afternoon snacks and beverages are served daily. Our great room is only available for breakfast and afternoon snack. Guests are asked to enjoy their dinner off property in one of Truckee's many restaurants.

Donner Lake Inn features a year-round outdoor hot tub available from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Hot tub towels are provided; children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The inn is located across the street from Donner Lake. Donner Memorial Park has lakeside picnic areas and a museum featuring the Donner Party and the building of the Transcontinental Railroad. Piping Rock Equestrian Center provides guided scenic trail rides through the Tahoe National Forest. A 30-foot deck faces the forest and lake. The year-round Gregory Creek flows nearby.

Donner Lake Inn is located across the street from Donner Lake, adjacent to the boat launch and two blocks from West End Beach. It is a quarter mile to West End Beach, three to nine miles from Sugar Bowl, Northstar, Donner Ski Ranch, Boreal, Soda Springs, Royal Gorge and Tahoe Donner. It is fourteen miles to Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, four miles to historic Truckee shopping and restaurants, seventeen miles to Lake Tahoe, and thirty-eight miles to Reno. The Inn is 75 km from Reno-Tahoe International. The annual Independence Day fireworks show at the lake is scheduled for 9:15 PM on July 4th. A free shuttle service operates in many areas including Donner Lake during the holiday period from December 26th to January 1st.

The Donner Lake Inn includes early morning coffee/tea service available before breakfast, and optional afternoon snack and beverage service. Concierge service is available. The inn can arrange distinctive Donner stays. Available from 4:15 PM to 5:15 PM, afternoon snack and beverage service is offered while chatting with other guests. A seasonal wood burning fireplace is in the heart of the B & B.
